Where Does Your Turf Come From?

Our synthetic grass is manufactured in the USA. Southwest Greens is part of Shaw Industries (a Berkshire Hathaway company), and each turf strand is crafted in Shaw’s U.S. factories. The advanced production lines use automation, Lean/Six Sigma quality controls, and in-house labs to meet industry-leading standards. When you book to install artificial turf with Southwest Greens, you can rest assured that you’re getting durable U.S.-made artificial turf.
American Manufacturing: We produce turf in Shaw’s American plants such as Dalton, Georgia. Thanks to Shaw’s innovations, our fibers stay consistent and durable.
Vertical Quality Control: As part of Shaw, our process covers every manufacturing phase. That allows us to provide consistent fiber quality and uniform color and pile height across batches, rapid support for warranty concerns, and clear manufacturing traceability to resolve problems quickly.
Rigorously Tested: Before any turf reaches you, it’s put through rigorous in-house and field tests. We use a 13,000 sq. ft. sports science lab and over 18,000 sq. ft. of outdoor test plots to mimic extended real-world conditions. Each fiber undergoes tests for UV stability, resilience, and ball/athlete behavior, so your turf remains natural-looking and durable over time.
CUTTING-EDGE INNOVATION
We keep evolving our turf to be even more realistic and resilient. Some of our latest innovations include:
Bolt™ Fiber (High-Performance: This proprietary Bolt fiber features a patented lightning-bolt shape. It retains its shape longer than standard turf, lasting more than twice as long. Its unique shape and curved angles reduce shininess, giving the turf a natural matte finish.
HydroChill® Cooling: We offer cooling infill that reduces turf temperatures by 30–50°F. This innovative moisture-activated process is perfect for warm-weather lawns and putting greens, keeping feet and paws comfortable even in summer’s heat.
Pet-Friendly Drainage: Our pet turf products are crafted for quick drainage and easy cleanup. Pets can play without ruining your yard. And the way our artificial grass naturally sheds pet waste keeps the lawn fresh and stain-free.
Creaturf™ Personalization: Want your turf to match your brand, mascot, or personality? Our Creaturf™ program lets you add graphics, emblems, or colored elements. From branded backyard putting greens to distinctive pet turf, this system provides total visual customization.
CUSTOMIZED TO YOU
We listen closely to customers, golf pros, and designers to ensure our artificial turf meets real needs. Feedback from golfers inspired us to develop a realistic “spring green” color that blends seamlessly with fairways. Little details like this help our turf lead in Atlanta residential and commercial spaces.
We also create specialized systems tailored to any environment — backyard putting greens, golf courses, pet areas, playgrounds, commercial lawns, game courts.
We take fake grass installation seriously. It’s an art when done right. Our synthetic turf behave like pro golf surfaces. That’s why legendary golfers like Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sörenstam trust Southwest Greens. And because we’re supported by Shaw’s industry-leading portfolio, we can customize every layer of your turf.
LOOKING AHEAD: 2026 AND BEYOND
At Southwest Greens, we never stop innovating. Watch for major turf releases in 2026! The Shaw Sport Turf shared that the public can select new field designs and that a next-gen “Game ON” synthetic turf (made in Calhoun, GA) will launch in 2026.
This playful spirit and technology will be available in landscaping products soon. We can’t give away every secret, but trust us when we say, our R&D team is working hard on the next generation of artificial grass.
Future turf will combine science with customer-driven input, so your next Southwest Greens lawn or putting green will be better than ever.
